Avoid running out of heating oil

There’s no need to run out unexpectedly! Our 6 tips will help you keep on top of your heating oil.

Did you know?

Low levels of oil create more space in the tank for condensation to form, which can result in water build up
and potential leaks.

How to monitor your heating oil?

There is actually more than one method to monitor your tank levels.

Dipstick method

  1. Insert the dipstick into your heating oil tank vertically until it touches the bottom.

  2. Remove the dipstick to see how much of it has been immersed in the oil.

  3. If the lower part of the dipstick is covered, this indicates levels are getting low and you'll need to schedule a delivery soon.

Want to put the dipstick method to the test?
