Home heating oil shortages expected

The recent adverse weather conditions look set to cause home heating oil supply issues, following damage caused to the infrastructure of the UK’s fuel oil supply network.

This disruption could cause major problems for households that use home heating oil / kerosene to heat their homes throughout the festive season, which falls within an already high period of demand.

The Total Lindsey & Phillips 66 refinery (with a collective output of 421,000 barrels per day) this week had to temporarily cease production; the main impact however is to the railway supply lines from the refinery into the Kingsbury Oil storage depot.

AID Fuel Oil’s vast storage capabilities and robust tanker fleet will allow the continued supply of home heating oil throughout the shortage to homes within Staffordshire, Shropshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Warwickshire & the West Midlands.
